Today was hell. During first period our school principal, Mrs. Quinn, came on the announcements and told us all of the tragedy that happened yesterday... Yesterday, Leah Shannon committed suicide. So many people were sad and crying; I didn't even know her and I'm crying as I type this. . . In school Kali told me that she heard Leah was possibly pregnant and she was going to have an abortion, but she couldn't handle it.. So she called up her mother and told her she loved her; then Leah hung herself. Her brother found her and had to take her down... And throughout school it was so weird to hear people saying "Oh! We just hung out Monday/Tuesday, too!" Or "We made plans to go shopping later.." and stuff like that... It made me think a lot and it's horrible to think of someone--even if you don't know them--committing suicide...
Noone should ever resort to taking their own life, it's such a waste. And it's a mortal sin that can send you to hell. There's so much more to life than what we're going through right now. I talked to my dad about this and he said: "The high school is small, there's just aobut 2,000 people; then you graduate and then there's the city, which isn't much bigger. Then you go to college in one state or another. After college, you've got the whole world.." And despite everything, the world is a big place with many people. If you're not finding the right people now, just wait, there's going to be more. People are like food, there's some rotten ones you don't like and sometimes those ones surround you; look further and you might just find something you do like... That's a bad analogy, but it works...
But I'm done for now...
Rest In Peace Leah Shannon. We wish you were still here.
